Rick Otton Shows Britons the Creative Way of Solving Financial Woes during Retirement

Rick Otton, the man responsible for introducing creative real estate strategies in the United Kingdom, shares some of strategies that would allow Britons to sell properties and help them solve common financial insecurities that come up during retirement.

A study conducted by Prudential Life revealed that 26 percent out of the 10.4 million retirees in the United Kingdom are planning to sell their houses to boost their retirement fund.

Some respondents also shared that they are selling their houses to downsize and use the profits to pay off their debts. A report published by The Telegraph last 21 August 2013, revealed that 1 out of 5 retirees are still paying an average of £254 every month on their mortgage.

In a recent interview, Mr. Otton stated that “selling a property in the UK, using the traditional process, is not the only way to strengthen retirement funds and pay off existing debts.”

“Using creative real estate processes to buy and sell properties for sale is a more effective way to solve these problems, because it can easily create cash flow and provide benefits to not only the investor – but all parties in a property deal.” He pointed out.

Mr. Otton then gave examples of how his strategies can create cash flow and benefits through flexible payment terms.

“An installment contract, like the 10:10, allows people to pay for a property for sale in 10 years, but the buyer must pay 10 percent higher than the seller’s original price. This way the buyer benefits from more time to complete his payments, while the sellers just sit back and enjoy higher profits,” he explained.

“The sandwich lease contract, on the other hand, brings together people who have old, unpaid debts and those willing to undertake their payments to get into a house of their own. The benefit for the seller comes from being free of debt, while receiving small monthly payments, and the buyers realize their dream of home ownership,” Mr. Otton discussed.

“Learning these creative strategies not only helps Britons get their own houses easily, but it also shows them a new business or profession they can enter after they retire,” according to Mr. Otton.
