New Associates Join Growing Litigation Practices

Sommers Schwartz is pleased to announce that two attorneys have recently joined the firm.

Amy L. Marino is an associate in the Complex Litigation group, focusing her practice on class actions. Ms. Marino earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a concentration in Behavioral Neuroscience from Yale University, and her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Thomas M. Cooley Law School. At Cooley, she received a full academic honors scholarship and earned several awards for her academic performance, leadership, and strong commitment to pro bono activities such as the Just Beginning Foundation and “From Redlining to White Flight,” programs designed to educate high-schools about the role of the federal courts and possible careers in the law.

Michelle D. Trent joins the Medical Malpractice and Personal Injury groups after a successful internship with the firm. After receiving her undergraduate degree in Marketing from the Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University, Ms. Trent earned her Juris Doctor at Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where she participated in various organizations and received a scholarship for her superior academic performance. She was invited to join the editorial board of the Journal of Practical & Clinical Law, serving as the Senior Marketing Editor before ultimately being named Editor-in-Chief.

“Sommers Schwartz continues to build on its reputation for successful outcomes in high-stakes contingency litigation, says Joseph Bourgon, Senior Shareholder and CEO. “Amy and Michelle will play important roles in the services we offer and results we achieve, as well as the future success of the firm.”
