Twenty century sciences, including quantum mechanics and chemistry, are reversible over time in the sense that they were conceived for and verified for events whose time reversal image verifies causality, energy conservation and other laws. The Italian-American scientist, Dr. R. M. Santilli, has dedicated his life’s research to the study of energy releasing and other processes that are irreversible over time, in the sense that their time reversal image violates causality, energy conservation and other laws (Fig. 1).
Dr. Santilli initiated his research on irreversibility during his Ph. D. studies at the University of Turin in Italy in the mid-1960s. During this time Dr. Santilli constructed a Lie-admissible broadening of the Lie algebras at the foundation of quantum mechanics and chemistry, and proved the so-called No Reduction Theorems establishing that irreversible processes cannot be consistently reduced to a collection of reversible, quantum mechanical events.
Dr. Santilli then continued the construction of the Lie-admissible mathematics when he was at the Department of Mathematics of Harvard University in the early 1980s under Department of Energy support. While at Harvard, Dr. Santilli achieved a time invariant Lie-admissible covering of quantum mechanics and chemistry for the representation of energy releasing processes, which are known as the genotopic branch of hadronic mechanics and chemistry, where the prefix "geno" is intended in the Greek sense of inducing new axioms (see R. M. Santilli, Elements of Hadronic Mechanics, Volumes I and II, Ukraine Academy of Sciences, Kiev, 1995, and Foundations of Hadronic Chemistry, with Applications to New Clean Energies and Fuels, Kluwer Academic Publishers, 2001).
Dr. Santilli’s Lie-admissible GenoMathematics, GenoMechanics and GenoChemistry have produced new insights that are not possible with quantum mechanics and chemistry due to their reversibility over time (Fig. 2), including: (1) The first known consisted compatibility between mechanics and thermodynamics on which a flurry of research is now going on (see, e.g, the paper and related references http://www.santilli-foundation.org/docs/Lie-Adm-Chemistry.pdf); (2) The prediction and experimental verification of intermediate nuclear fusions without radiations, also called "warm fusion" (see the latest paper http://www.santilli-foundation.org/docs/ICNF-Conf-2013.pdf); and (3) The proof that, under the proper treatment of the irreversibility of high energy scattering process (Fig. 3), "God's Particle" (the Higgs boson) searched for at CERN for decades, cannot exist (see the Proceedings of the 2011 Nepal International Conference on Lie-admissible Formulations http://www.santilli-foundation.org/docs/Nepal-2011.pdf).
