“i3 logging services are a vital functional element in the next generation PSAP landscape, and Solacom is very happy to have ECaTS expertise as part of our solution.”

Solacom Technologies, a leading NG9-1-1 solutions developer has signed a reseller agreement with ECaTS, a leading software company owned by California based Direct Technology, for their next generation 9-1-1 based MIS (Management Information System). The ECaTS solution gives Solacom Guardian customers a cloud based capability for MIS requirements.
The Solacom Guardian uses an innovative call logging interface, developed to meet i3 specifications set forth by the National Emergency Number Association, and is ideal for those counties and states evolving from legacy MIS to newer IP-based technology that offers more flexibility and an efficient means of gathering, viewing and distributing a greater variety of data for public safety answering points (PSAPs). The new MIS solution also makes statistical information, such as time to answer, available for 9-1-1 calls that have been transferred by a primary public safety agency to secondary agencies.
Solacom and ECaTS completed testing of the new i3 call logging interface last year at a PSAP in Texas and the IP-based MIS solution is now part of the Solacom emergency services platform being deployed at 2 next generation 9-1-1 sites in North Carolina.
“ECaTS’ industry leading cloud-based recording and information management solutions are standards-based and match perfectly with our innovation in high speed i3 call interfaces,” said Ray Vilis, vice president of business development at Solacom. “i3 logging services are a vital functional element in the next generation PSAP landscape, and Solacom is very happy to have ECaTS expertise as part of our solution,” added Vilis.
“This is an exciting time for 911 and for the ECaTS product suite. The integration of Solacom’s state-of-the-art NextGen services is a clear demonstration of ECaTS commitment to embrace i3 services and continue to provide comprehensive reporting options for those customers that are leading the NextGen implementations,” said Fred Michanie, founder and president of Direct Technology.

Originally, the ECaTS product was developed by Direct Technology in 1997 to solve a critical business need for the 9-1-1 Program Office in California. The Program Office was seeking a product that could provide universal 9-1-1 Call Statistics Analysis across the entire state regardless of the type of Customer Premise Equipment installed at each public safety answering point (PSAP). Direct Technology developed and deployed the first version of the product in late 1997. ECaTS is the only cloud based NextGen 9-1-1 reporting product that provides universal business intelligence reporting services for Public Safety Clients regardless of the type of Customer Premise Equipment at each PSAP.
