Author Seeks to Identify Staff-Recognition All-Stars
Edmonton, Alberta (PRWEB) September 24, 2013 -- Staff-recognition expert and author of Thanks! GREAT Job! Nelson Scott believes that managers, supervisors and others who do a good job of using simple techniques to recognize employees and co-workers deserve to be acknowledged.
With this in mind, Scott has launched a search for Staff-Recognition All-Stars by asking employees everywhere to visit http://www.GREATstaffrecognition.com to nominate a current or former boss, a colleague or some they supervise to join the 2013 Staff-Recognition All-Star lineup.
“We are looking for supervisors or managers who are effective in providing high-value (as perceived by recipients), low-cost (in terms of time, money and effort) staff recognition” Scott says.
Scott, who is based in Edmonton, Alberta says that informal, day-to-day recognition from managers and supervisors can improve retention, boost morale and increase engagement. “These results don’t come from formal, corporate-wide recognition programs which are often expensive, become bogged down by rules and regulations, and touch too few people.
“Research has shown that lack of recognition from their supervisors is the Number One reason that people leave organizations,” Scott says. “On the other hand, people who are recognized frequently are more engaged, satisfied with their current jobs, and less likely to be searching for other employment opportunities.”
The deadline for submitting nominations for the Staff-Recognition All-Stars lineup is Friday, October 4. Nominations can be submitted by visiting http://www.GREATstaffrecognition.com.
The Best Recognizer Ever award winner will be announced just prior to Boss’s Day—Wednesday October 16, 2013.
