Healthcare Solutions Subsidiary, Procura, Receives Workers’ Compensation Preferred Provider Program Administrator Approval

(Procura), has been approved as a Workers’ Compensation Preferred Provider Program (WC PPP) Administrator by the Illinois Department of Insurance.
Under the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Act (820 ILCS 305/8(a) and 8.1a), employers can direct medical treatment for their injured employees by using a Workers’ Compensation Preferred Provider Program approved by the Department of Insurance. Utilizing a WC PPP helps to improve medical care for injured employees by providing a single extensive network of credentialed medical providers and helps to decrease medical costs for employers. By using Procura’s WC PPP, which became effective on August 15, 2013, employers can eliminate non-network care, obtain services at contracted rates and deny of out-of-network providers/services. Because the company maintains networks of all types of providers – physicians, specialty services (imaging, physical therapy, DME and home health) and pharmacies – it is uniquely positioned to provide the comprehensive networks required of WC PPPs under Illinois law.
