Raleigh, NC (PRWEB) September 13, 2013 -- PCI, a leading provider of calibration and maintenance services to the Life Sciences industry is pleased to announce the recent appointment of Ken Ewan to the PCI Board. Mr. Ewan has over 40 years of experience in the biotechnology, chemical and pharmaceutical fields.

Mr. Ewan was most recently a Senior Director, Engineering Technical Support for MedImmune. Previously he was Executive Director, Corporate Engineering with Amgen. His responsibilities included all discipline functions supporting world-wide projects for Amgen. Leading up to Amgen, he served as Vice-President of Pharmaceutical Operations, Skanska USA Building. Mr. Ewan previously was employed as Director of Engineering for GlaxoSmithKline for 14 years, responsible for an integrated team of project managers, engineers, and cost/schedulers delivering capital projects in GSK's manufacturing company. Prior to coming to GSK, Mr. Ewan was Senior Project Manager at Genentech, responsible for one of the first manufacturing facilities for the emerging biotechnology industry of the 80’s.
A graduate of Clemson University in South Carolina and Drexel University in Philadelphia, Mr. Ewan recently completed the Executive Program at Georgetown University in Leadership Coaching. He chaired an international commission to certify professional pharmaceutical engineers for the ISPE, (International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineers) and is a member of The International Coach Federation holding the credential, Associate Certified Coach. He was on the Board of Directors for the ISPE Chesapeake Bay Area Chapter and is currently on the Board of the ISPE CaSA Chapter.
