Announcement: GuitarControl.com Just Released a Blazing Two Minutes Country Guitar Lesson
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) September 12, 2013 -- In the lesson, which was rencently made public on YouTube under the title “Country Guitar Lesson—Fast Country Guitar Lick in A7 with Alternate Picking,” Jon bases the lick on an A chord at the ninth fret, though it will work anywhere on the fretboard. The first note is A on the second string, first finger, tenth fret, plucked with the second finger of the picking hand. It is followed by the repeating pattern of E (fourth finger, fourth string, 14th fret), C# (second finger, fourth string, 11th fret), then E again, all with the pick.
Next, pluck B on the second string, third finger, 12th fret, followed by the same E-C#-E pattern on the fourth string. Finally, pluck C# on the second string, fourth finger, 14th fret, followed by the E-C#-E pattern. For this move, lay the fourth finger down so that it can also fret the E on the fourth string, 14th fret. All the notes are sixteenth notes.
The lick is much easier to visualize using the included country lick tab, which is written in both tablature and standard notation. Jon also demonstrates how to use it at other locations on the neck.
For best results, start very slowly, using a metronome or click track to stay in time and gradually build up speed as the moves become more familiar. Enjoy and learn more from Jon MacLennan and all the teachers at Guitarcontrol.com in the many guitar lessons at http://www.youtube.com/guitarcontrol.
