Awake the Nation: The United We Stand Festival at UCLA on Oct. 12th
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) September 12, 2013 -- On Saturday October 12, 2013, Free & Equal will hold a music festival infused with intellectual dialogue and discussions to educate and empower. This movement is quickly creating media buzz and has attracted an influx of speakers, leaders, organizations, and nationally recognized musicians such as: Public Enemy, Saving Abel, Founders of the Wu-Tang Clan, and Golden State, to name a few.
With 10,000+ people expected in attendance, this event will be one of the largest independent political festivals to ever be held at UCLA’s campus. It is the first stop and launch pad to a national 10-Stop university bus tour that will take place in 2014.
"Free & Equal Elections will host a first of its kind, peaceful, positive, and powerful solution-based movement uniting Occupy, Tea Party, Third Party, Republican, Democrat and Independent leaders across the spectrum which will result in saving our world," says Free & Equal Founder Christina Tobin. The non-partisan, non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization "Free and Equal," has collaborated with leaders, musicians, celebrities, journalists, organizations and "We the People," to break the stranglehold of the two-party system and reform the electoral process by empowering more young Americans to vote and run for elected office.
Last year, Founder and Chair of Free & Equal, Christina Tobin, co-moderated the largest ever, open presidential debate, with media personality Larry King. Four presidential candidates participated. As a result over 20 million people viewed the debate. It quickly received mass social media attention especially from the youth vote, and was a top ten topic trending on Twitter. Since then, Tobin has dedicated herself to raising awareness about the non-partisan organization Free & Equal, with the mission of creating open and transparent elections that give power back to the individual voter. "More Voices, More Choices."
