Through the eyes of a young detective, John Kaufman’s book, Three Gold Coins or Too Young to Die This Rich, explores how difficulties teach lessons about life, faith and self-discovery.

Three Gold Coins or Too Young to Die This Rich follows the adventures two young teenagers from central Nebraska as they search for missing buried treasure. Their quest takes them across state lines and through old family history as they get involved in the community and the twists of detective work.

The novel touches on important topics relating to society, social issues and religion. The characters spend time in a homeless shelter, work through different family dynamics and experience the power behind a trustworthy friend. Three Gold Coins also explores the significance of a relationship with faith and impact a higher power has on people’s daily lives.

About the author
John Kaufman is a painter, sculptor and writer. Originally from Michigan, he lived with his large family on their dairy farm. After working on his master’s degree from Michigan State University, Kaufman moved to Tucson, Arizona, where he has lived for more than thirty years. Kaufman is working on the second book in the Mel Porter Dread series.
