FMC Corporation to Showcase VigorOx® WWT II at WEFTEC in October
Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) September 12, 2013 -- FMC Corporation (NYSE: FMC) announced today that it will participate in the 86th Annual Water Environment Federation Technical Exhibition and Conference (WEFTEC) in Chicago from October 5 to 9. FMC’s booth will showcase VigorOx® WWT II wastewater disinfection technology, a complete disinfection process solution built around the company’s 15% peracetic acid (PAA) formulation, which is USEPA-approved for the disinfection of wastewater effluent streams and has been deployed at wastewater treatment plants across the country both for full scale trials and as primary disinfectant on permit.

Formulated as an equilibrium solution, peracetic acid is a versatile oxidizing agent used in chemical synthesis, bleaching and registered for use as a sanitizer, disinfectant and sterilant by USEPA. In full-scale applications, it has demonstrated microbial inactivation equal to or better than existing technologies while meeting strict disinfection byproduct limits and aquatic toxicity requirements at a lower cost.
