Never-Before-Done Movie Theater "Event" Answers Teens' Deepest Fears
Garden Valley, TX (PRWEB) September 12, 2013 -- With the recent headlines of school shootings, random killings, bullying and suicides, teens are returning to school this year with lots of apprehension. SURGE is a brand new movie theater experience -- part rock concert, part comedy show, part youth rally -- that will give an empowering message of hope to hundreds of thousands of teens who are facing increasingly difficult situations at school and in life.
SURGE is coming to more than 400 movie theaters across the United States this October, bringing a high-impact, interactive experience where attendees will be encouraged to take out their smart phones to download songs and apps while the movie is playing.

SURGE is presented by Teen Mania Ministries and Acquire The Fire, which has been developing innovative ways to empower and inspire teens for nearly three decades.
"SURGE is an experience like you've never seen before, that will address some of the top fears teens have expressed as they delve into their school year. Fears like bullying, school violence, drug use, peer pressure, acceptance and rejection, economic worries, and depression," said Ron Luce, founder of Teen Mania. "It's designed to empower teens to not only face their fears with courage and hope, but to impact the world around them for good."

SURGE is the brainchild of Luce, who is a highly sought-after expert in youth culture and has appeared on CNN, The O'Reily Factor, The Today Show, Hannity, and in the New York Times. SURGE has been his vision for several years, as a way to bring encouragement to hundreds of thousands of teens who would otherwise never step foot into a church building.
"After being face-to-face with nearly 3 million teens at Acquire The Fire events, we wanted to leverage technology to reach out to as many teens as possible more regularly,” Luce said.
SURGE is features exclusive new songs by Grammy-winning artists like Lecrae, The Newsboys, and Casting Crowns. It also features inspiring messages from Ron Luce and the comedy of John Gray.
