Weld County Joins the Rocky Mountain E-Purchasing System
Weld County, CO (PRWEB) September 17, 2013 -- Vendors bidding on county projects will now be able to view those projects through an online procurement system called the Rocky Mountain E-Purchasing System. Weld County project information, including bids, RFPs, quotes and amendments, will begin appearing on the online purchasing system on Sept. 23, 2013.
“The Rocky Mountain E-Purchasing System will save time and tax-payer dollars,” said Trevor Jiricek, Director of General Services for Weld County. “The system provides vendors easy access to view bid opportunities, addendums and bid results from Weld County, as well as numerous other Colorado agencies.”
The county will continue to post project bidding information on the county web site which will link interested vendors to the E-Purchasing site, however the county will no longer mail postcards to vendors alerting them of new projects. “Our goal is improve the efficiency of the county bid process,” said Jiricek. “The online system will help us reach more vendors and will require less staff time than our current system.”
Currently, the county updates and maintains its own vendor list; the Rocky Mountain E-Purchasing System will not only take over maintaining and updating that list but also add to the list at vendors’ requests.
“The Board of Commissioners is continually encouraging county departments to look for efficiencies and cost savings that will positively impact our residents,” said Commissioner Chairman William Garcia. “We are excited about the opportunity this new service will provide.”
