According to the results of the survey, Atlanta was found to be only the 164th safest city in the United States out of the 200 that were included. This low ranking was based on the facts that drivers typically go an average of 7.7 years between car accidents in the area and that this duration is 30.6 percent shorter than the national average. This ranking at number 164 also represents a drop from the 2012 survey in which Atlanta was ranked number 161.
