Lobster by the Hundreds Set to Boil in San Pedro World Record Pursuit
San Pedro, CA (PRWEB) September 12, 2013 -- Combining art and science has rarely been as tasty as the lobster pot that will go into the record books this weekend as the first to cook several hundred lobsters at the same time.
"This pot, which is actually mobile, will cook approximately 800 lobsters at once," said Mike Ungaro, Vice President of San Pedro Fish Market. "It sounds fun, but when you have tens of thousands of dinners to serve nearly at once, this is the type of innovation you need."
The Ports O'Call Lobster Fest this year is expected to attract over 15,000 attendees, rock bands ranging from the English Beat to local stand outs, and dozens of local vendors, with Lobster dinners presented by the World Famous San Pedro Fish Market and Restaurant.
"Every year, Lobster Fest keeps getting larger, it's already in the Guinness Book of Records for most seafood, and now its grown so large that we have reached a history making point again," Ungaro said summarizing their development of the lobster pot. "This pot will insure that each lobster will be cooked precisely to achieve maximum flavor."
Each of the 20,000 + lobster dinners to be served is served as a full dinner with a compliment of side dishes in the outdoor festival environment. A special opportunity to be served a giant lobster of 3 to 3.5 pounds is also available.
Lobster Fest 2013 Giant Lobster VIP's will be given a 'first in line' level of service from their complimentary entry into the Festival to their huge lobster dinner service, to the gifts of collectible t-shirts to help signify their participation in making Lobster history.
