A non-resident of Missouri wanting to serve as a navigator for Missouri residents is required to pass the Missouri navigator examination administrated by PearsonVue in addition to completing the federal training. This examination contains questions on Missouri specific requirements.
Featured in the “Navigator Training for MO” are the following topics: qualified health plans, essential health benefits, minimum coverage, exemptions, financial assistance, Medicaid, Missouri Medicaid rules, basic health insurance concepts, policy provisions, health insurance marketplace (exchange), functions of the exchanges, small business health options program (SHOP), navigator’s roles and responsibilities, HIPAA, privacy issues, outreach and education, Missouri Statutes, rules and regulations.
