Katy, TX (PRWEB) September 13, 2013
Igloo Products Corp. plans to hire 250 additional full time workers in their Katy plant by the end of this year – representing a 31% workforce increase – to support the continued growth of the company.
The hiring is in addition to the more than 50 manufacturing jobs Igloo added in 2012, as the company increased production to meet the growing demand for its outdoor products.
“Our new hiring is a direct result of our continued growth strategy for Igloo,” said Gary Kiedaisch, Igloo chairman and chief executive officer. “As we expand our product lines, we need more people in critical areas to ensure we deliver the products people want and value.”
Igloo’s hiring will help support the company’s product quality initiatives and momentum. Igloo is committed to growing in the outdoor products industry across markets with a full line of products offering the best in quality, usability, design and value.
To attract new team members, Igloo has expanded its use of social media to reach new, technology-savvy workers, including such sites as Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. The company also is stepping up its recruiting efforts to reach military veterans.
Igloo will be hosting an onsite career fair at its Katy facility on Friday, September 20th from 9:30am to 2:00pm. Interested candidates are encouraged to follow Igloo recruitment on key networking sites, including Twitter (http://twitter.com/IglooRecruiting) and Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/IglooCareers). Individuals who “like” the Igloo Careers Facebook page and follow Igloo Recruiting on Twitter will receive regular updates about new career opportunities at Igloo Products Corp.
Igloo will provide application stations and an opportunity for potential employees to meet with managers and representatives from various departments at each career fair. Additionally, Igloo will offer refreshments, giveaways and door prizes.

“We are proud to be a U.S. manufacturer creating jobs in the U.S. and offering our employees exceptional benefits and a quality work environment,” said David Thornhill, Igloo chief operations officer. “Our business partners have made it possible along with our aggressive new product introductions over the past several years.”
By partnering with the TWC Workforce Solutions, Work Life Institute, Employer Support for the Guard and Reserve, WorkFaith Connection, Amaanah Refugee Services, Star Metro Vanpool, Alliance for Multicultural Community Services and many other community based organizations Igloo will provide opportunities for veterans and many seeking employment in our community .
The company also announced in late January it is expanding with the addition of a new 420,000 sq. ft. warehouse and distribution center currently under construction in Katy.
“Katy Area EDC appreciates Igloo’s commitment to creating 250 jobs at its facility on Igloo Road. We are pleased to support this employee expansion as we recently supported the new distribution center at West Ten Business Park. Igloo is a premier company and employer in the Katy Area,” said Lance LaCour, Katy Area Economic Development Council president and CEO.
