This fall the People Report/Black Box Intelligence community will gather for the 19th time to focus on global best practices and the challenges of balancing people, profits and the planet. This exclusive consortium of chain restaurant leadership represents foodservice industry sales of over 35 billion dollars and one million employees. The opportunities and challenges faced when conducting business in this digitally charged age will be the centerpiece of the conversation.

The agenda is tightly focused on the issues most crucial to the restaurant industry’s success and prosperity today; compensation and benefits for the whole enterprise, the Affordable Care Act, labor relations, global leadership and the emergence of conscious capitalism. The agenda will also feature front line stories from some of the industry’s most remarkable leaders.

Keynote speeches will be delivered by J. Walker Smith, Executive Chairman at The Futures Company, Wendy Clark, Senior Vice President at The Coca-Cola Company, Ty Bennett of Leadership Inc and Wally Doolin of People Report and Black Box Intelligence. Other main stage speakers include Clarice Turner of Starbucks, Sarah Palisi Chapin of Hail Merry Snack Foods, John Miller of Denny’s Corporation and Conference Chair, as well as the 2013 Workplace Legacy Award Winner Gene Lee, President of the Specialty Restaurant group at Darden.

The annual November event includes attendees from Carlson Restaurants, Fiesta Restaurant Group, Abuelo’s, Legal Seafood’s, Ignite Restaurant Group, Raising Cane’s and Del Taco LLC. It is expected to sell out mid October.

In 2012, over 300 restaurant industry leaders gathered in Dallas. Attendees included representatives from Cheesecake Factory, Texas Roadhouse, Famous Dave’s, Denny’s, The Palm Restaurant, Dominos, Darden Restaurants and Brinker International. The event honored Kent Taylor, CEO and Founder of Texas Roadhouse as the 2012 Legacy Award winner and recognized the best in class for human capital practices in their specific segments. Winners were BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse, Eat’n Park Restaurants, La Madeleine, LongHorn Steakhouse and White Castle. Nominees for the 2013 Best Practices Awards will be announced in late September.
