The opportunities for men and women who have graduated from online cooking classes are always high, but for those who have certification from a well-known program in the food industry the demand is even higher.

Ashworth College, one of the leading accredited online colleges, has added the Gourmet Cooking and Catering Career Diploma Couse to its ever-growing list of certification prep programs. After completing the Online Cooking Classes, students may earn their ServSafe® Food Handler Certification.

For the benefit of its graduates, Ashworth College (http://www.ashworthcollege.edu) created its online catering school with the intention of providing students with the most direct path to success. Career education from an accredited college combined with certification from ServSafe®, sponsored by the National Restaurant Association, helps Ashworth graduates become desirable job candidates for prospective employers.

"ServSafe® is the most widely recognized and accepted food safety program for those in the food safety and food service fields," said Dr. Leslie Gargiulo, Ashworth College Chief Academic Officer. "The opportunities for men and women who have graduated from online cooking classes are always high, but for those who have certification from a well-known program in the food industry the demand is even higher."

Dr. Gargiulo went on to cite U.S. Department of Labor statistics that project considerable employment opportunities for those in the gourmet cooking and catering fields. "It’s expected 99,800 people will be working as chefs and head cooks by the year 2020."
