Italian Olive Oil Producer Bellucci Premium Comments on Olive Pits Being Used in Cleaning Solutions

According to an article published on September 10th by The Olive Oil Times titled “P&G Patent Application Employs Olive Pits in Liquid Cleaners,” liquid cleaners that contain olive pits can effectively be used on glass, Teflon, ceramic, and even stainless steel.
The company that started the patent application says in the article that the choice in cleaning products is usually based on cleaning performance, not necessarily what kind of surface damage a product can cause. Unfortunately, many products that excel in surface safety are often inadequate when it comes to cleaning. These products include natural ingredients like apricot pits and walnut shells.
Grinding pits of olives and using them in cleaning products has proved to be a successful mixture, says the article. Olive pits are “hard enough to provide the cleaning effect, however, soft enough to provide good surface safety profile.” Olive pits have some other great qualities; they are light in color if harvested at the right time and are biodegradable.
