A company representative states: “Great styles never go out of fashion. With our new authentic collection, we’ll be bringing the past into the future while upholding the OTE brand’s unparalleled quality. The company’s discerning eyewear lacks big logos, relying solely on precision, fit and design. Each style has its own personality and we are now creating strong signature pieces, with exquisite intricate details and rich colors, for new generations to come.”
Timeless stylish eyewear has long been the favorite accessory to Hollywood celebrities. James Dean sported the Tart Optical “Arnel” frames. Johnny Depp wore the “Arnel” in the 2004 movie “Secret Window” and the glasses have become part of his distinctive retro look. Other celebrities who wear the “Arnel” include: Harrison Ford (in the 2013 film “Paranoia”), Brad Pitt (in the 2008 film “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”), Ben Affleck, Jason Sudeikis, Fred Armisen, Jeff Goldblum, Carson Daley, and Demi Moore. Aficionados of the “F.D.R” style include: Gene Hackman (in the 1998 film “Enemy of the State”), Lady Gaga and Mindy Kaling. International boxing star Manny Pacquiao enjoys wearing the “Surfer” frame, as did his idol Bruce Lee.
OTE is proud to announce that renowned legendary entertainer and entrepreneur Jermaine Jackson will join forces with OTE’s design team as Creative Director. His first creation will be a Limited Edition signature “Aviator,” a timeless frame, made from solid gold and embellished with diamonds, as well as a rich beta titanium version scheduled for release in 2014. His artistic creativity will add fashionable high luxury taste to the iconic and recognizable brand.
Founded in Middletown, New York in the mid 1940's, Tart Optical Enterprises was a small but legendary manufacture of eyewear. Plastic frames became more popular during the late thirties, in part because World War II created a scarcity of traditional materials. OTE's experience in the manufacture of metals and plastics put the company in a position to create innovative combination frames in the 1940’s.
OTE is synonymous with extraordinary fashion-forward eyewear. The sturdy 7 barrel hinge made from nickel silver makes the eyewear durable for years to come. The miter cut, a technique mastered by true craftsmen, gives understated and extraordinary detail to the frames. Other significant features include the keyhole nose bridge design and the raised rivets that are precisely pinned down by hand. Premium materials are used from the famous Mazzucchelli plastics company, such as Zyl (zylonite), which is known for its firmness and luster. The entire high-end eyewear collection is handcrafted in Italy and comes with rich genuine leather cases.
New styles being launched for the collection include: the legendary Ful-vue P-3 shape, Countdown, Ex-Man, T-Round, Bryan and the Arnel ‘55, which comes with anti-reflection polarized lenses clip-on as a tribute to James Dean. Asian fit is offered in the collection, ranging in a variety of sizes.
Tart Optical Enterprises will be attending SILMO Paris, the International Optics and Eyewear Fair from Sept. 26-29, 2013. Paris Nord Villepinte, Hall 5, Booth C119.
