los ángeles, CA (PRWEB) September 16, 2013
Music lovers around the world are rallying once again to help spread peace through music with the Playing For Change Foundation’s third annual global event, 1Love Playing For Change Day on Saturday, September 21, 2013. On this day, musicians and fans will unite on stages and street corners, in schools and cafés, and through live-streamed music performances, with a shared mission to promote peace and positive social change.
The all-day event will culminate with a benefit concert in Los Angeles at the legendary Whisky a Go-Go, featuring an all-star line-up of talent representing a diverse cultural mix of music from across the globe. Three-time Grammy Award-winning blues guitarist Keb Mo will headline the show, joined by the world-renowned Playing for Change Band, John Densmore of The Doors, Ghanaian Afro-Roots sensation Rocky Dawuni, West African Afro-Soul artist Alidu, "Piano Teacher to the Stars" Margie Balter & Friends and Students, 2013 Marley's Music Uprising band search winner Papafish, and other special guests.
Proceeds from the concert will support the Playing For Change Foundation‘s free music education programs that serve children and their communities around the world.
The Playing For Change Foundation is joined this year by 1Love, a foundation started by Bob Marley's family in hopes of inspiring a global community to join together and build a better tomorrow. The Playing For Change Foundation works to do just that by bringing music into the lives of young people.
