Amidst nearly 1,000 submissions, Leo Hamel Fine Jewelers has selected four winners to receive a $2,500 Leo Hamel gift card from their Celebrate Your Life at Leo’s Photo Contest.
The contest, which ran from May until the end of August, asked for photos that portrayed life’s celebratory moments. Submissions were classified into four categories: tearjerker, heartwarming, happy and proud.
“We received an outpouring of both touching and memorable photos over the past few months, and we’re pleased to finally have the opportunity to announce the winners to the San Diego community,” says owner and founder, Leo Hamel. “I’d like to congratulate the four winners and thank all those who shared extraordinary photos that celebrate life’s most treasured moments.”
The four winners in their respective category include:
•Tearjerker – Joycelyn Castañeda: Depicting the unbreakable bond between a father and son,
Joycelyn Castañeda dressed her newborn in attire similar to that of her husband, who is
currently serving in the US Navy, to create an emotional, yet inspiring photo.
•Heartwarming – Kyla Akasha: Capturing the authenticity of a sister’s loving embrace, Kyla
Akasha shot and submitted a heartfelt candid from her own photo studio.
•Happy – Jonathan Hicks: There was no second to spare when the wedding photographer quickly snapped a photo of Jonathan Hicks and his happy bride jumping into a pool during their “Trash the Dress” wedding shot.
