Dialogic Unveils BorderNet Diameter Services Helix for Service Provider Interworking, Routing and Security
Parsippany, N.J. (PRWEB) September 16, 2013 -- Dialogic Inc. (OTCQB:DLGC), the Network Fuel™ company, today announced its BorderNet™ Diameter Services Helix (DSH), revolutionary in its ability to seamlessly integrate an interworking function (IWF) alongside Diameter traffic routing, mediation and security features in a single software-based solution, eliminating the need to deploy and manage separate platforms. The BorderNet DSH also solves challenges service providers encounter when delivering services across LTE, 3G and wireless networks to offer a consistent end-user experience.
A flagship product of Dialogic’s any-to-any signaling solutions, the BorderNet DSH represents a significant advance from standard Diameter signaling controllers in its ability to accelerate interworking between technology domains, simplify infrastructure deployments and enable the rapid creation and delivery of new services. The BorderNet Diameter Services Helix offers service providers a unified platform that integrates the Diameter Routing Agent (DRA), Diameter Edge Agent (DEA) and Diameter Interworking functionality on a standalone platform.
“We expect the amount of Diameter traffic to continue to grow due to the expansion of LTE networks and rise of always-on applications. At the same time, 3G networks are not going away and will have to coexist side-by-side with LTE for years to come. The ability for customers to roam between the mobile networks and Wi-Fi access involves the interworking of Diameter and protocols like SS7 to deliver a seamless service. This is a primary use cases that is driving demand for Diameter signaling controllers to help make it all work,” said Diane Myers, principal analyst for VoIP, UC and IMS at Infonetics Research. “Operators recognize the challenge with protocol interoperability, and are seeking reliable interworking to efficiently manage and scale with the influx of traffic.”
Andrew Goldberg, senior vice president of marketing and strategy for Dialogic, said, “Today’s smartphones and tablets are overwhelming LTE networks. Our Diameter Services Helix is a boon to service providers, who are anxious to implement COTS-based solutions that cost-effectively interconnect Diameter-based networks with other protocols for service continuity and traffic offload."
The BorderNet DSH combines interworking and service orchestration with an advanced Web 2.0 GUI that applies advanced logic to message flows to support services involving multiple protocols like Diameter, MAP, RADIUS, LDAP and HTTP. The extensible multiprotocol architecture of the DSH allows a degree of flexibility that can accommodate new protocols and protocol variants without the need for expensive development or additional hardware.
