Tef Poe Steals the Show at LouFest
(PRWEB) September 17, 2013 -- On Sunday, September 8th, at 3:30pm, Tef Poe took Lou Fest by storm as the only hip-hop act performing at the two-day festival which saw a record attendance of 16,000, the groundwork of which had begun many months earlier with a heavy radio campaign for his latest single "Blue Mutha". In conjunction, the demand for interviews with Tef Poe has increased as well.
His radio single "Blue Mutha" feat Fitzgerald (prod by J.R.) received a hearty jumpstart from powerhouse hip hop DJs such as The Lou Gotti Boyz (DJ Cuddy & DJ Sir Thurl), Staci Static, and DJ A Plus. Since then, it has steadily been expanding throughout the regional midwest airwaves and nightclubs.
Fast forward several shows, touring, and a documentary later... and Tef Poe was asked to be a part of Lou Fest. He used this opportunity to showcase other St. Louis-based talents (Downstereo, Rockwell Knuckles, Family Affair, and Doorway) in addition to his own powerful show on the BMI Stage. With the combined powers of Tef Poe and his band Downstereo, one of the most energetic and jaw-dropping performance to every brace the stages of LouFest was pulled off. This festival was primarily comprised of national acts such as The Killer's and Wilco. Tef Poe was historically booked as the first hip hop act of his nature to perform at LouFest.
Fans can be on the lookout for the highly anticipated joint project from Tef Poe & Rockwell Knuckles entitled the 'David Ruffin Theory' to drop the week of Halloween, October 2013. It is no secret that this project has been in the works for years and has been pushed back many times before. When asked about the delays and if fans should really expect the project this time around, Tef Poe responded, "Rockwell and I wanted to make sure we delivered a quality project at the right time. Both of us have grown artistically and professionally which led to several revisions of the project from its original format. Rocky has been in process of negotiating his record deal with XMG, and of course I'm preoccupied with my various business ventures; now that the ink is dry, we're ready to release the music. And yes, it will be released Halloween week of 2013 without a doubt."
Tef Poe and Downstereo join forces once again Sept 19th @ 2720 Cherokee w/ Mobb Deep and Alchemist.
Tef Poe is a hip-hop recording artist distributed through Bungalo/Universal Records Distribution and advocates for human rights as an official performer for Amnesty International.
