eRecording pioneer to serve a two-year term as an association director

Karl Klessig, vice president at Corporation Service Company® (CSC®), has been elected to the Property Records Industry Association (PRIA) board of directors for a two-year term.

Karl Klessig, vice president at Corporation Service Company® (CSC®), has been elected to the Property Records Industry Association (PRIA) board of directors for a two-year term.

Klessig was one of seven directors elected at PRIA’s August 27-29 annual conference in Minneapolis, Minn.

Klessig is the former CEO of Ingeo Systems, Inc., a company that revolutionized the mortgage industry more than a decade ago when it launched the first electronic system for real estate document recording. An eRecording system serves as an electronic bridge between submitters of real estate documents (lenders, title companies, and attorneys) and county offices, enabling documents to be prepared, submitted, recorded/rejected, indexed and returned with unmatched speed and efficiency. CSC acquired Ingeo Systems in 2011.

Klessig has served as president and CEO of nine companies and on the board of directors of 14 organizations. He has provided specific expertise in marketing, business development, restructuring, and financial and business management. Klessig has been an invited speaker throughout the U.S., Canada, Japan and Europe.

“CSC is a strong supporter of PRIA and the real estate document recording industry,” Klessig said. “I’m honored to have been elected to its board and look forward to working even more closely with PRIA over the next few years.”

PRIA develops and promotes national standards and best practices for the land records industry, including technology standards, implementation guides, white papers, best practices, model legislation, and informational resources.

“I anticipate a very productive year for PRIA,” said PRIA president David Ewan of Westcor Land Title Insurance Company. “With our new strategic plan approved and shared with the committee and work group chairs, this board is eager to begin the work of bringing these goals to fruition. We are on the threshold of some very exciting initiatives.”
