New York, NY (PRWEB) September 20, 2013
New York medical malpractice attorney Charles N. Rock has announced that his firm will be accepting cases from alleged victims of surgeon Dr. Spyros Panos, an orthopedic surgeon who surrendered his medical license on September 2rd, 2013 after being charged on at least 250 counts of fake, unnecessary, or negligent surgeries by the New York Office of Professional Medical Conduct (ABC News, September 5th, 2013).
According to the ABC News report, Panos admitted that he failed to provide appropriate medical care and treatment, failed to maintain accurate medical records, and billed at least seven former patients for funds he was not entitled to.
“After admitting that he failed to provide appropriate medical care, neglected to keep accurate medical records of his patients, and charged for services he did not render, it is clear that the potential scope of this case should not be underestimated,” states Attorney Charles Rock. “Medical negligence undermines the trust we would like to have in our doctors. People who have suffered because of the negligence of Dr. Panos can pursue just compensation through a medical malpractice claim.”
The ABC news report notes that Panos was terminated from Mid Hudson Medical Group in 2011, and is currently the subject of a criminal investigation according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, although he has not yet been charged with a criminal offense. Attorney Rock alleges that Mid Hudson Medical Group and the hospitals involved in so many suspect surgeries may also be potentially liable for allowing the malpractice to take place.
Former patients of Panos who believe they may have a case can contact Attorney Rock at (888) 603-3541 for a free medical malpractice consultation.
