Urgent Care Facts for Any State Are Now Just a Click Away
Franklin, TN (PRWEB) September 16, 2013 -- Information and statistics have always been a struggle to collect for the urgent care as the industry is fragmented and highly variable. Urgent Care Locations, a national directory of walk-in clinics and urgent care centers, is seeking to solve this. Through the clinic information they have been able to collect and verify on more than 7,500 walk-in clinics around the country, the group is now extrapolating state-specific data points including the following:
• Total number of walk-in clinics in a state
• Total number of urgent care clinics in a state
• Total number of retail clinics in a state
• Total number of pediatric urgent care clinics in a state
• Percent of walk-in clinics that are open 7 days a week
Additionally, the site provides a listing of all the cities with at least one walk-in clinic. Examples of these new state summaries include the following:
• Florida (http://www.urgentcarelocations.com/fl/)
• Arizona (http://www.urgentcarelocations.com/az/)
• Texas (http://www.urgentcarelocations.com/tx/)
• California (http://www.urgentcarelocations.com/ca/)
In addition to just numerical stats, Urgent Care Locations will soon add to each state a listing of the top five urgent care brands and top five retail clinic brands operating within each state.
All of the data points presented about urgent care and walk-in clinics is derived solely from the data within the Urgent Care Locations database. As such, the thoroughness and accuracy of the location directory and details on each clinic is paramount.
Michael Barber, founder of Urgent Care Locations, explains, “It has always been our mission to provide a quality consumer resource of reliable information. We have now reached the size and scope where our data has statistical meaning and this is just the first application.”
There are an estimated 9,000 urgent care centers in the country and another 1,400 retail clinics. Urgent Care Locations has data on just over 72 percent of them. More than seventy percent of those clinics have been verified directly with the owners and operators of the locations. With an estimated 300 new locations opening each year – and an undefined amount number closing – maintaining the data integrity will be an on-going topic.
“As our digital footprint and market prevalence expands,” continues Barber, “our ability to monitor new opens and closures, as well as address changes, operational shifts and merger and acquisition activity will become easier. Few firms are in a position such as ours to monitor and report on such activities.”
In the next couple of months, Urgent Care Locations will provide similarly detailed reports for the top 50 cities in the country in addition to establishing new relevant data points for both states and cities.
