The first ever Taiwan IDEAS Day Boston will take place on Thursday, October 17, 2013 at 5:00pm at the Cambridge Innovation Center’s Venture Cafe. The purpose of this event is to introduce a number of Taiwan’s top early-stage startups to potential investors in the New England area, as well as to introduce the New England Area’s startup community Taiwan.
Taiwan IDEAS Day Boston is being presented by Taiwan’s Institute for Information Industry, The Venture Cafe at the Cambridge Innovation Center, Mass Challenge, The New England Venture Capital Association, MIT Sloan’s Tech Club, Greater China Club and Asian Business Club.
Taiwan IDEAS Day Boston is part of the greater Taiwan IDEAS initiative sponsored by Taiwan’s Office of Science and Technology, Executive Yuan (Executive Cabinet) and managed by the Institute for Information Industry (III). The Boston initiative is a new effort to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in Taiwan and throughout the world.
On October 17th, a delegation from III will introduce the winners of Taiwan’s 2013 IDEAS Show startup competition, in addition to other early stage Taiwan startups from MIT, to members of Boston’s local startup community. Teams will make short presentations to a panel of judges comprised of local Boston area venture capitalists and startup executives.
Following the presentation will be a networking hour at the Venture Cafe.
Catering the event will be Allston’s four-time Boston Magazine award winning Chinese restaurant, Jo Jo Taipei.
