As one of the co-founders and COO of the past five years, I am keenly aware of what it will take to build on our reputation for delivering quality solutions and continue to grow our business.
Columbus, Ohio (PRWEB) September 18, 2013
Health Care DataWorks (HCD), a leading provider of business intelligence solutions and healthcare analytics, announced today changes to its leadership team. Under the new direction, the company will continue to build on its reputation for delivering strong solutions that help hospitals and healthcare systems improve the quality of patient care and help them effectively manage ever-increasing operational costs.
Jason Buskirk, one of the company’s founders, has been named CEO and will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations and leading product strategies for HCD’s pre-built applications. Buskirk’s deep expertise and understanding of the challenges healthcare systems face today will be invaluable to HCD’s customers. Ivo Nelson, a member of the HCD Board of Directors since 2010, has moved into the role of Chairman. The leadership team now in place will build on HCD’s continuing success and position the company to maximize its potential for future growth.
“It is critical that the leadership team possess deep industry knowledge and the experience and expertise to guide the company’s direction,” said Buskirk. “As one of the co-founders and COO of the past five years, I am keenly aware of what it will take to build on our reputation for delivering quality solutions and continue to grow our business. With Ivo Nelson as our chairman, I am confident that we are in a good position to serve the dynamic information needs of hospitals and health systems.”
Buskirk has been key to HCD’s success since it was founded in 2008. He was instrumental in developing the company’s flagship solution, the KnowledgeEdge™ Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), and will continue to play a major role in the product’s roadmap. He has the business savvy and deep industry knowledge to provide the leadership necessary to guide the company into the next phase of its growth.
A 28-year veteran in the healthcare industry, Nelson is world renowned for building some of the largest healthcare outsourcing and consulting teams in the United States. Currently, he is a director on the board of Encore Health Resources, which he founded in 2009. Encore provides information technology consulting services to the provider segment of the healthcare market. Nelson is also the Chairman and CEO of Next Wave Health, an advisory investment company that recently announced the creation of Smart Social Media, the first enterprise social media software platform designed specifically for the healthcare industry.
“I joined the Board of Health Care DataWorks three years ago because I recognized the company’s innovation in providing products and services that change the way hospitals and health systems operate,” Nelson said. “I look forward to being a part of the team that provides this core competency to the healthcare industry.”
As part of those efforts, HCD is also collaborating with John Gomez, principal of the New Jersey firm JGo Labs, LLC to help institute leading-edge processes and develop market strategies that align with critical needs in today’s healthcare industry. “This collaboration and interaction will foster imaginative solutions to real-world problems and lead to a stronger, more competitive and effective organization,” Buskirk said.
“As HCD founder and COO for the past five years, Jason Buskirk is a natural part of our CEO succession plan.” said Dr. Herb Smaltz, HCD Board member. With the reins of leadership in his capable hands, I will continue to serve on HCD’s Board of Directors and be operationally involved with business development and thought leadership. With these governance and management realignments, as well as the help of industry experts like John Gomez, the future looks very bright for HCD.”
