Elton John Tickets Rocket on BuyAnySeat.com Ahead of U.S. Tour
Denver, Colorado (PRWEB) September 17, 2013 -- Elton John, now 66, rocketed on to the scene in 1970 with his first hit single “Your Song”. Since then, the piano-playing powerhouse has cut 35 gold and 25 platinum albums.
He has sold more than 250 million records worldwide. Plus, he has 56 Top 40 hits and the best-selling single of all time. But then, like so many gifted performers, he discovered and began mastering his craft early.
At the age of three, he astonished his family by sitting at the piano and playing The Skater's Waltz by ear. By age 11, his complete mastery over tempo, theme, tone, timbre and touch was clear; and he received a five year ride to London’s Royal Academy of Music in 1959.
He began performing live in 1962 and went solo in 1969. Then, on the night of August 25, 1970, he debuted in America at The Troubadour in Los Angeles and, quite literally, became a rock star overnight.
Five decades later, the five-time Grammy Award winner has been on tour somewhere in the world ever since. This year, in support of his Diving Board album, he opens at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 18, and is booked for a 14-show run through October 12, 2013.
“Since his solo career began in 1969, Elton has performed more than 3,000 concerts worldwide,” said Felina Martinez at online ticket marketplace BuyAnySeat.com. “He always sells out.”
“That’s why we’re proud to offer fans the most complete and continually refreshed selection of concert tickets available online, with a worry-free guarantee to protect their purchase,” said Martinez.

After Las Vegas, Elton performs at the ACL Live at the Moody Theatre in Austin, Texas on October 17; Verizon Center – DC in Washington D.C. on November 14; Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio on November 20; and Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota on November 22.
Then come concerts at the Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska on November 23; Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis, Missouri on November 24 and Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on November 27, 2013. From there, the Rocket Man blasts off for a European swing, opening in Moscow on December 6, 2013.
On this year’s tour, Elton and his Band will be playing classic tracks from his five-decade career, and songs from his latest album. The new LP features 15 new tracks. It was released yesterday in the U.K. and is set for U.S. release on September 24, 2013.
In terms of reviews, Rolling Stone gave the new album four stars, writing: "The album is more focused than anything he’s done in years…. Perhaps the LP’s most impressive achievement is the way it returns Elton’s piano to the forefront, where it ought to be."
Another reviewer wrote, “The Diving Board is his most significant release since his 1970s heyday. Recorded under the watchful ear and Midas touch of producer T-Bone Burnett, it features his and Bernie Taupin's most potent crop of songs in decades, a series of tales and tableaux brought to vivid life by the singer's maturely expressive vocals and adhesive melodies." Candle in the Wind 1997, Elton’s tribute to the late Diana, Princess of Wales, has sold over 33,000,000 copies, making it the best-selling single ever.
Elton John was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994. He was knighted by HM Queen Elizabeth II for “charitable services” in 1998, and appeared at The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Concert in 2012.
In addition to his musical gifts, Elton John is among the world’s most generous entertainers. He established the Elton John AIDS Foundation in 1992 and is Patron or Ambassador to 23 charities.
