Wibu-Systems Releases CodeMeter® 5.0, the Most Flexible Software Licensing and Copy Protection Platform
Seattle, WA (PRWEB) September 19, 2013 -- Wibu-Systems, a developer of secure software licensing and license management solutions, has launched CodeMeter 5.0, the company's flagship solution for desktop applications, cloud services, embedded systems and mobile devices. CodeMeter provides software developers with secure and flexible licensing, copy and IP protection, and automated entitlement management across the software licensing lifecycle.
To protect against software piracy, tampering and unauthorized usage, CodeMeter fully encrypts the application and automatically implements protection methods such as anti-debugging and intrusion detection and provides locking codes that permanently invalidate the license if an attack is detected. CodeMeter offers a choice of secure licensing options including encrypted license files which are bound to a specific target PC upon activation (CmActLicense) and hardware devices (CmDongle) in a variety of form factors such as USB, SD Card, CF Card, and others. CodeMeter accommodates a wide range of license models, such as single user, network/concurrent users, lease or subscription user, pay per feature, and trial licenses to meet various market demands and monetization goals.
The CodeMeter license platform incorporates License Central – a web-services based license management solution that can be fully integrated with existing business applications to streamline the order process. With License Central, software vendors can create, distribute and update licenses that can be activated automatically over the internet, manually via file transfer, or via telephone. License Central also provides a web portal for end users to easily retrieve, back-up, and restore their licenses. License Central easily integrates into existing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Customer Relationship Management (CRM), or other enterprise applications using industry standard web services, such as SOAP and XML, to enable complete automation of the license management process.
New in the CodeMeter 5.0 release is the ability to configure CmDongles as Human Interface Devices (HID), in addition to a Mass Storage Devices (MSD), which enables the host operating system to automatically recognize the CmDongle as a mouse or keyboard and run without the need of a kernel level driver. CodeMeter 5.0 also includes CmWAN which enables secure licensing in The Cloud via HTTPS. Licenses can be securely accessed in The Cloud without modifying IT infrastructure or existing firewalls.
