Just ahead of the 2013 fire season, Chim Chimney--Middle Tennessee's leading chimney service and repair company--is promoting the importance of safety and awareness through two new videos targeting homeowners.

Gene Kaposy, owner of Chim Chimney, appears in two new videos promoting chimney safety and maintenance.

Gene is very ‘hands-on,’ he’s passionate, and one of his main concerns is that people just don't understand the serious dangers of a poorly maintained chimney.

Chim Chimney, a local family-owned and operated business, recently worked with agency partner Good People Creative to produce two short video commercials highlighting safe chimney maintenance and operation. “These new commercials,” explains owner Gene Kaposy, “are mainly about awareness.” He continues, "Awareness is an issue year round, but more so now, because people are about to start using their fireplaces.”

Chim Chimney was founded in 2002, but Karen and Gene Kaposy—the couple that owns the business together—have more than 17 years of experience. Chim Chimney is now one of the leading chimney service providers in Middle Tennessee, but they have not allowed growth to interfere with their dedication to personalized service.

Josh Harrell, the filmmaker and videographer who shot and produced the 30-second and 60-second pieces, says, “The cool thing about Chim Chimney is that this guy loves what he does—he truly cares about it.” Harrell continues, “Even though their business has gotten really big, he loves being out there and working on the chimneys with his guys. That was what we tried to portray. Gene is very ‘hands-on,’ he’s passionate, and one of his main concerns is that people just don't understand the serious dangers of a poorly maintained chimney.”

Shooting the commercial was a full day affair at an actual jobsite. “There were a lot of bloopers on my part,” Gene recalls, “I can do the job...I can do what I do all day everyday, but when it comes down to talking about it, I was sweating like you don't even know...and my wife was just sitting there laughing at me!”

Chim Chimney corrects and repairs existing chimneys prior to and during the “fire season.” They make home safety their top concern, and in addition to standard inspections and maintenance, Chim Chimney investigates potential chimney leaks and other issues homeowners report. Important information and safety tips are freely available on the Chim Chimney Blog.

The Chim Chimney Videos are currently posted online at the Good People Studios Vimeo page and will soon air on local television.
