Miami VA Thanks Local Employers for Supporting Veteran Employment
Miami (PRWEB) September 17, 2013 -- The Miami VA Healthcare System will be thanking local businesses who have proven that hiring veterans is good business and hosting a networking session for local employers who are interested in learning about the advantages of hiring Veterans at 11 a.m. Sept. 19.
Local businesses being recognized include 50 States Security, Publix Supermarket, the FIU Hospitality Institute and Ross Stores. Local business owners and hiring managers are encouraged to attend to learn about how veterans can help them grow their business by taking advantage of the unique skills and training that the military provides.
In addition to the skills that veterans bring, businesses who hire eligible veterans before Dec. 31 may be eligible for VOW to Hire Heroes Act of 2011 tax breaks.
The program will include businesses sharing their experiences with Veterans, VA experts answering common questions about working with Veterans and stories of Veterans who have made the transition from military to civilian life.
