Electrosoft's VA ePACS Project Team Successfully Completes UAT/IOC and Obtains PMAS Approval for Increment 2
Reston, Virginia (PRWEB) September 20, 2013 -- As a result of the successful IOC, VA’s Office of Information Technology (OIT), as part of their agency-wide Project Management Accountability System (PMAS) methodology, approved the program to move into Increment 2. As part of this increment, Electrosoft will focus on obtaining the Authority to Operate (ATO) that will enable the system to be placed into full production across VA’s worldwide facilities.
The ePACS provides interconnectivity of multiple and diverse vendor Physical Access Control Systems (PACS) with other Identity, Credentialing and Access Management (ICAM) components across the VA infrastructure. This system supports the VA’s ongoing efforts to meet requirements of Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12), the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB, M-11-11), FICAM, VA Directive and Handbook 0735, as well as other VA guidance. ePACS is VA’s innovative technical approach to leverage Personal Identification Verification (PIV) credentials as the common means of authentication for access to the VA’s facilities.
Electrosoft’s ePACS solution is based on the SAFE software suite developed by Quantum Secure. The SAFE solution manages and streamlines security identities, compliance and events across disparate physical security systems.
