Connor Sport Court International To Supply Courts for First-Ever FIBA Basketball World Cup
Salt Lake City, Utah (PRWEB) September 19, 2013 -- FIBA (International Basketball Federation) selected US based Connor Sport Court International as its ‘Official Technical Supplier’ of custom courts for the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup.
This decision comes as FIBA seeks to elevate the brand identity of the FIBA Basketball World Cup by creating consistent, uniquely-branded playing surfaces of the highest quality across multiple venues. Connor Sports will execute that vision by supplying custom-made and specifically-designed portable QuickLock™ wooden courts to each of the six host cities of the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup in Spain.
“The FIBA World Cup will be the best, highest level basketball tournament ever held,” said Andrew Gettig, VP of International Business for Connor Sport Court. “We are thrilled to provide the highest quality Connor Sports wood floors to meet FIBA’s needs for this competition.”
It may be the first FIBA Basketball World Cup, but this isn’t the first time Connor Sports delivered for high-profile clients and competition. This year, EuroBasket will play its final rounds on a Connor Sports floor and in 2010, Turkey’s Ankara Arena used a Connor Sports QuickLock™ when it hosted several FIBA World Championship games.
Connor Sports has consistently been at the forefront of iconic design for clients such as the NBA Brooklyn Nets, NBA Boston Celtics, Euroleague Fenerbahçe Ülkerand and the US NCAA Final Four.
“Because of our ongoing partnerships with major events and history of designing for the leaders of basketball, we understand the high profile nature of the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup. We can handle the logistics required to execute the world’s largest basketball tournament, and are excited for the opportunity.” said Ron Cerny, CEO of Connor Sport Court.
Connor Sport Court also provides its patented Sport Court® PowerGame™ as the playing surface for the FIBA 3x3 World Tour and FIBA 3x3 Adult and Youth World Championships. In addition, Connor Sport Court has been a FIBA Equipment & Venue Centre Partner since 1994.
