Kim Tubbs-Herron of Microsoft Joins iCorps Technologies as Chief Operating Officer
Boston, MA (PRWEB) September 19, 2013 -- iCorps Technologies, a leading provider of outsourced IT services for small and medium-sized businesses in the Boston, New York City, and Philadelphia areas, recently announced that Kim Tubbs-Herron has joined the company as its Chief Operating Officer (COO).
As a member of iCorps’ executive management team, Tubbs-Herron will ensure operational excellence across all aspects of the company’s customer-centric services delivery as it continues its expansion to major markets along the Northeast Corridor.
With more than 25 years of experience in the services and software industry, Tubbs-Herron brings tremendous insight and knowledge to her new role at iCorps. These skills – together with her legacy of unstoppable drive and innate ability to lead both businesses and people – position Tubbs-Herron as a catalyst for accelerating iCorps’ growth.
“We have known Kim for several years through our partnership with Microsoft,” explains Michael Hadley, iCorps’ CEO, President, and co-founder. “She is a proven leader with a passion for people. Her expertise in leveraging technology to meet the demands of SMBs for simplicity, affordability, and impact are distinct advantages that align well with our corporate objectives and ensure our customers’ success.”
Tubbs-Herron advanced consistently and notably in her sales career during 13 years at Digital Equipment Corporation and 17 years at Microsoft, where she led teams to the company’s top sales awards. Most recently, she was the East Region General Manager for Microsoft’s Small Midmarket Business and Distribution and guided her team in aligning and connecting programs with thousands of customers and partners throughout the US.
“iCorps is an exceptional company,” says Tubbs-Herron. “Trust, honesty, and integrity are exemplified by its employees from top management on down. To me, these core qualities are as essential as technical skills in driving business success and exceeding customer expectations. I look forward to this next chapter in my career, which will allow me to contribute substantially to the direction and growth of iCorps and its people, as well as influence its impact with customers.”
A Massachusetts native, Tubbs-Herron went to high school in New Bedford and lived in Boston while attending classes at Boston University. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business from the University of Maryland. Her natural ability to guide people to their full potential led Tubbs-Herron to give structure to those talents: She is certified as a professional coach from the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC). She also is a member of the Information Technology Senior Management Forum (ITSMF) organization.
Tubbs-Herron’s successful sales career has taken her all over the United States; since her role at iCorps will require frequent travel along the East Coast to the IT company’s offices in Boston, New York City, and Philadelphia, she plans to remain based on South Carolina’s beautiful Hilton Head Island. “Traveling within one time zone will be a blessing,” Tubbs-Herron jokes. With family and friends still in Massachusetts, Tubbs-Herron looks forward in particular to her travels to iCorps’ Boston headquarters for regular meetings.
Hadley and Christopher Cook, iCorps’ Chief Financial Officer (CFO), eagerly await Tubbs-Herron’s official October 14 start date when she will begin to participate actively in strategy and planning sessions and meet the geographically extended iCorps team members.
“Kim is a proven leader with an unrelentingly passion for people, customers, and partners,” says Hadley. “As a Microsoft partner, we’ve witnessed her responsiveness, leadership, and technical abilities firsthand. We are delighted that she has chosen to direct her talents exclusively to helping us propel our company’s growth and ensure strong partnerships with our customers.”
