TPW Management Supports the Dorset Theatre Festival and the Season's Final Performance, The Last Waltz Live Benefit
Dorset, VT (PRWEB) September 18, 2013 -- TPW Management, a family-owned, full service property management company based in Vermont, is pleased to support the Dorset Theatre Festival and the season’s final performance, The Last Waltz Live Benefit.
On Friday, September 20, the Dorset Playhouse outside of Manchester, VT will be the setting for a re-creation of The Last Waltz, a memorable concert performed by rock group The Band in 1976. All proceeds from this special evening at the Dorset Playhouse will benefit Music in Common, a non-profit organization that produces concerts, school programs and multimedia productions in communities that need that support or where there has been a history of conflict.
Local Berkshire County based jam band “Rev Tor,” who has been playing songs from The Band’s repertoire for quite some time, had the idea to organize a Last Waltz tribute concert after one of The Band’s original members, Levon Helm, passed away last year. The tribute concert was such a hit that Rev Tor decided to take the concert on the road. After eight Last Waltz concerts, the Dorset Playhouse will host this special benefit concert. Rev Tor will headline the evening and play alongside local Vermont musicians as well as national artists. The songs will be performed in the same sequence as the original Last Waltz concert, which sent The Band into retirement in 1976. In addition, WhistlePig Whiskey will be hosting a pouring of their local flavor during the event.
TPW is one of several Dorset Theatre Festival sponsors that help bring high quality theater and music to Dorset, Vermont. The Dorset Theatre Festival, a vital community resource, has produced plays for over 38 years and is a launching pad for new playwrights.
