Famous chef, Gino D’Acampo, has launched his new mouth-watering six-part series on ITV, Gino’s Italian Escape.

Friday evening saw the launch of Italian chef Gino D’Acampo’s new mouth-watering six-part series on ITV. “Gino’s Italian Escape” combines lifestyle, travel and cookery as Gino D’Acampo travels across his beloved homeland. Viewers can expect to watch the chef revealing the best-kept secrets of beautiful Southern Italy, a place that is close to the famous chef’s heart. Gino will draw you in to the region renowned for its vibrant people, food and culture, and will explain why the destinations he grew up in inspire him today.

Starting from the famous coastline of the Amalfi Coast to ancient Rome, awe-inspiring Puglia and the Basilicata regions, Gino’s journey around Southern Italy will be a delicious one. In the first episode which aired Friday 13 September, Gino visits his favourite holiday destination from his childhood, the stunning Amalfi Coast. Sharing adorable family photos with us, as well as the Amalfi Coast famous treasure, the first episode gives us a taster in what is sure to be a great first primetime TV show for the chef.

Gino stops off first in Amalfi town which is world-famous for its lemons, lemons that are so sweet you can eat like an apple, including the skin! Visiting a secluded citrus grove, Gino’s discoveries inspired him to whip up a creamy lemon mousse topped with crushed amaretti biscuits. After sharing with us tasty delights using the renowned lemons, Gino then heads further down the coast to an organic buffalo farm. Meeting more friendly locals, this time expert mozzarella makers, Gino tries his hand at crafting pliable cheese. The episode ends with Gino and his new friends, enjoying local dishes and the gorgeous sunset aboard a sail boat.

Episode two of “Gino’s Italian Escape” takes the chef to his beloved home region of Naples. World famous for its pizza, the next episode is guaranteed to be another mouth-watering one. Tune in and indulge in more of Italy’s fantastic cuisine and landscapes.
