Indiana Wesleyan University Partners with Pearson to Create Digital Campus
Marion, Indiana (PRWEB) September 18, 2013 -- Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU) is partnering with Pearson to create a robust digital campus with the initial phase to be launched in March 2014. This new suite of technology tools and resources will offer IWU faculty and students a unified, seamless digital environment allowing for a highly engaging and interactive teaching and learning experience across every learning modality.
Under the agreement, Pearson will provide award-winning digital content; eTextbooks (delivered via a single sign on); a cloud-based learning management system with integrated data analytics to monitor and analyze trends in student performance and measure learning outcomes; and services such as online course design and development, on-demand online tutoring, and technical support.
“We live in a time when a college degree has never been more important to ensure career readiness and employability,” said Dr. David Wright, Indiana Wesleyan University President. “We partnered with Pearson, a proven and respected industry leader, to help our university have all the resources needed to boost student success. Pearson is the best organization to help us bring all of these resources together in a cost-efficient way and enable us to realize our vision of a digital campus for the 21st century student.”
IWU’s 12,500 online and non-residential students will be the initial beneficiaries of the partnership. The digital campus will eventually impact the entire institution by enhancing teaching and learning for all faculty and students, and enabling IWU to measure, improve and document academic quality across all academic programs.
Dave Daniels, President of Integrated Solutions at Pearson North America, stated, “IWU is dedicated to its students’ success. Our unique partnership with IWU helps the university take advantage of digital access to learning materials and innovative online learning technologies, allowing faculty to focus on teaching and positioning learners for greater academic and career achievement.”
U.S. News & World Report ranks Indiana Wesleyan University as “one of the best Master’s universities in the Midwest.” The university’s total enrollment, which now exceeds 15,000 students, makes IWU the largest private university in Indiana. To learn more about IWU, visit: http://www.indwes.edu/.
