Programming on High Speed Rails in America is Featured in “Leading Edge” with host Jimmy Johnson
(PRWEB) September 19, 2013 -- Imagine waking up in New York and in less than eighteen hours arriving in Los Angeles. The visualization of rapid transportation is becoming a reality, and California is on the brink of it being the first to get America’s High Speed Rail. Often referred to as “bullet trains” these fast motives of transportation can reach speeds on average of one hundred thirty nine miles per hour. A recent survey conducted by the American Public Transportation Association revealed that a majority of people surveyed are willing to choose High Speed Rail over air or car travel if the option is available.
Scheduled for completion in 2029, California’s High Speed Rail will be electric and running entirely on renewable energy. Economically there are benefits of around six hundred and sixty one million dollars in profit annually according to a new report released by the American Public Transportation Association. To add to that, more jobs are created; boosting the economy. The green house emissions are substantially less than its competitors. High Speed Rails reduce collisions substantially, having a greater impact environmentally. People are also more interactive socially with one another as passengers on trains while transporting from work to home. Fast, intercity rail is the most promising option for the future of destinations, and how we move between them.
“Leading Edge with Jimmy Johnson” will showcase the ins and outs of the railroad industry and the radical changes being made within it. The “Leading Edge” series will also feature train conductors and economists to further broaden the viewers’ knowledge on the flourishing industry of High Speed Railways.
The series is distributed to Public Television stations throughout the United States and is not distributed through PBS. Please visit the Leading Edge website at http://www.leadingedgeseries.com or email the producers at info(at)leadingedgeseries(dot)com for more information.
