PetsPage and “Tinks” are a Big Hit at Boise, Idaho’s 34 Annual Hyde Park Street Fair
Boise, Idaho (PRWEB) September 19, 2013 -- Karen Bostick, creator and CEO of PetsPage and her little Maltipoo, Tinks, the face of PetsPage.com, hosted a free lemonade stand at Boise, Idaho’s 34th annual Hyde Park Street Fair this past weekend. Bostick, who lives in the neighborhood where the fair is held, hosted a free lemonade stand last year too and raised almost $500 for charity. The popularity of last year’s lemonade stand, led Bostick to do it again this year to promote PetsPage.com as “A Place for the Social Pet” and her mission of increasing pet owner awareness of veterinary specialty medicine, which can quite literally save pets’ lives through advanced veterinary care at a grassroots local level in her hometown.
PetsPage and Tinks were a big hit with visitors to the Hyde Park event. While serving hundreds of gallons of lemonade, numerous pitchers of cucumber water and ice tea, Bostick reports that pet lovers literally fell in love with Tinks, were captivated by Tinks’ Story, and fascinated that they had a social pet community to share their pet photos, stories and videos in PetsPage.com.
“I am so excited at the success of this year’s free lemonade stand and how well our pet advocacy and PetsPage was received at the fair. I heard numerous stories from pet parents where a referral to a veterinary medicine specialist may have been appropriate and I encouraged them, as I always do, to advocate for their pet by working with their general veterinarian to seek a referral to a veterinary specialist. Every time I hear these stories I am certain we are on the right track in increasing pet owner awareness of veterinary specialty medicine through our social pet community at PetsPage.com. I am also thrilled we were able to sign up hundreds of pet owners as new PetsPage.com members through our free lemonade stand during the Hyde Park Street Fair. I can’t wait to do it again next year,” said Bostick.
The Hyde Park Street Fair is an annual fund raising and informational effort and one of the largest neighborhood events in the country. The Hyde Park Street Fair features booths filled by paintings, photography, art glass, jewelry, hemp clothing, handmade crafts, candles, crystals, knickknacks, food, bands, belly dancers and entertainment of all kinds. Billed as a “Neighborhood Picnic” or the “Biggest Neighborhood Party” and a place to find your “Inner Hippie,” the event benefits Boise’s North End Neighborhood Association and attracts up to 40,000 people every year, most of which are pet lovers, with many bringing their dogs along to experience the fun.
