Names Bill Makin as Managing Director

Tower Legal Solutions, a full-service legal staffing and managed review company, continues to expand its service offerings. Today it announced the formation of a consulting arm - Tower Consulting Services (TCS). Based in New York, TCS focuses on ensuring clients control costs, improve efficiencies, and increase productivity over the long-term by offering custom-tailored solutions across the spectrum of legal services:

  •      Needs Analysis/Spend Analysis
  •      Department Building
  •      Executive Staffing
  •      Vendor Management
  •      Legal Department Management
  •      Billing/Cost Recovery and
  •      E-Discovery

William (Bill) A. Makin, Esq. is leading TCS serving as Managing Director and is joined by Sarah Bahmani, Esq, who will serve as Project Manager. For over 15 years, Makin has consulted with some of the largest corporations in the world, specializing in helping them deal with e-Discovery issues. He has also assisted corporations in all areas of trade including finance, manufacturing and technology. Prior to joining TCS, Makin was a founding member at Impact e-Discovery Consulting. He also served as the Global Director of e-Discovery & eCompliance for Citigroup, Inc. building a department that served business operations in over 110 countries. Previously, Makin worked at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP, Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP and Loeb & Loeb LLP.

“We are thrilled to have Bill join the team further expanding our service offerings,” said Leslie Firtell, President and CEO of Tower Legal Solutions. “Bill's wealth of experience, in the e-Discovery space in particular, enables us to provide our clients cost savings and a competitive edge that will ensure a high return on their investment.”

Under Makin’s leadership, TCS will help clients implement a framework for measuring metrics to track performance, drive efficiency gains and cost savings, helping organizations make better decisions regarding case strategy.

“There is a lack of awareness around e-Discovery in the industry and how it can help bridge the gap between reducing costs in engagements and increasing efficiency to provide sustainable results,” said Makin. “There are a lot of offerings for a quick fix in the marketplace, but in my experience, investing in people and processes helps companies develop best practices to handle e-Discovery and cost efficiency challenges and ultimately be more nimble.”
