Friends of Georgia State Parks Selects Aplos Software’s Cloud Nonprofit Accounting Software
Fresno, CA (PRWEB) September 23, 2013 -- Aplos Software, LLC announced today that Friends of Georgia State Parks & Historic Sites selected Aplos Software’s Cloud nonprofit accounting software to manage the accounting of its member chapters. Using Aplos Oversight, Friends of Georgia State Parks will be able to oversee all the bookkeeping of its chapters and gain real-time insight into the organization’s financial performance.
Friends of Georgia State Parks is a nonprofit organization that helps support the promotion and preservation of Georgia’s state parks and historic sites with over 50 chapters throughout the state.
“When Georgia’s state parks faced significant budget cuts beginning in 2008 and 2009, the people of Georgia really responded by donating their time and finances to keep the parks opened and well-maintained,” said Damon Kirkpatrick, director of operations with Friends of Georgia State Parks. “We have grown significantly over the past few years, so it was time to move to an accounting solution that could give us better, faster insight into the bookkeeping of each chapter and the financial health of our organization as a whole. After researching a variety of options, there was no other software that matched the effectiveness and affordability of Aplos in managing chapter finances.”
Friends of Georgia State Parks will be using Aplos Oversight, which is a Software as a Service (SaaS) financial management platform where a headquarters can oversee the individual bookkeeping of chapters. While each chapter manages its own accounting using Aplos Software’s nonprofit accounting software, the central office is able to standardize accounting practices, increase internal controls and have real-time auditing access to the bookkeeping.
Aplos Oversight also increased the financial reporting capabilities of Friends of Georgia State Parks with consolidated financial reporting of all chapters, in addition to in-depth data and reporting for the individual chapters.
“With Aplos Oversight we can more efficiently see the financial picture of our organization as a whole, quickly identify trends, and stay connected to activity in our chapters,” said Kirkpatrick. “Moving our chapters to Aplos’ Cloud accounting software was clearly our best solution because we now have better bookkeeping and better financial data, which helps us be a stronger and more effective organization.”
