Hosted by Jimmy Johnson, “Leading Edge” Produces a Series on Hair Loss
(PRWEB) September 20, 2013 -- In our society, thick hair represents beauty, youth and vitality. When someone begins to lose their hair, it can become frustrating and traumatic for both men and women. Nearly 50 million men and 30 million women in the United States are affected by it and more than two billion dollars are spent each year trying to reverse the effects of it. Hair loss, for some, contributes to poor self esteem and lack of confidence.
For many years, the only options available for hair loss included painful hair grafts and plugs, which produced uneven results. New technology is offering more viable options in hair loss prevention and treatment for patients. These treatments include non-surgical techniques such as medication and hair replacements as well as surgical hair restoration and transplantation.
With host Jimmy Johnson, “Leading Edge” will team with organizations and medical practices working to prevent and treat hair loss. “Leading Edge” will create awareness of this disease and outline treatment options available to the hair loss sufferer.
The series is distributed to Public Television stations throughout the United States and is not distributed through PBS. Please visit the Leading Edge website at http://www.leadingedgeseries.com or email the producers at info(at)leadingedgeseries(dot)com for more information.
