Free People Gives Fans a New Reason to Download Its App
Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) September 23, 2013 -- While some retailers focus on growing their social followings, Free People has gone above and beyond, building a Community all its own. The Style Community, FP Me, is incorporated into the brand’s website as well as their dedicated app, and now, fans have a new reason to download or update on their iOS mobile devices. The boho chic brand is launching a photo stream of FP Me Style Pics that can be accessed directly from the home screen. With the swipe of a finger, users can scroll through a large format feed of user-generated Style Pics and heart, pin, tweet, email, or share the content to Facebook while the feed is regularly updated with new content.
Free People’s acclaimed iOS app has received more than 110,000 downloads in its first three months. Now, with the FP Me photo stream update, Free People has created a gallery curated by none other than the customers and fans themselves. With over 16,000 Style Pic uploads to date, the photo stream will offer seemingly endless content to scroll through and share.
“FP Me is a social fashion Community where members engage with our brand and each other, sharing and discovering fresh styling ideas and fashion inspiration,” says Jed Paulson, Free People’s Director of Marketing & Ecommerce. “The success of our app has exceeded our loftiest expectations thus far, and we are excited to see even greater engagement and excitement from our Community with the launch of the photo stream.”
As a lifestyle brand, Free People wants its fans to be a part of the story, and FP Me gets the customer involved so they can tell a bit of the tale themselves.
