The PFA Facebook page for Jermaine Defoe is a revelation with fans say Digital Sports Group
(PRWEB UK) 22 September 2013 -- The Facebook page has become a thriving hub for the Tottenham Hotspur striker since its launch and now boasts a vibrant and rapidly growing community of fans. The Facebook page along with Jermaine Defoe player profile on football.co.uk provide the only online location of the official PFA biography, lifetime stats, news and high resolution gallery.
The former Charlton trainee began his professional career at Upton Park before embarking on a season-long loan spell at Bournemouth, where he scored 19 goals in 31 appearances before returning to London and clocking up 105 games and 41 goals for West Ham.
After making the switch from East to North London, Jermaine Defoe scored on his debut against Portsmouth on February 7, 2004, before earning his first senior England call-up for a friendly against Sweden in March 2004. He went on to score seven goals in 15 matches in that first season.
Jermain Defoe scored 64 goals in 177 appearances for Spurs before joining Portsmouth in January, 2008. He scored nine goals in 24 matches for Pompey but a year later he returned to Spurs and settled straight back in to life at the Lane, although a foot injury ruled him out from late January to April, 2009.
He went on to score 24 goals in all competitions to earn a place in England's World Cup squad for Germany in the summer of 2010.
Jermain took his tally to 118 goals with 17 in 2011-12 and his goal in the final-day victory over Fulham handed him the number 10 spot on Spurs' all-time list - only the 16th player to hit a century of goals for the club.
Head of Operations at DSG, Matthew Tait had this to say, "Jermaine Defoe really has no shortage of fans after his performances for Tottenham Hotspur and England this season and we can see that by the success of his PFA Facebook page.
“All of us here at Digital Sports Group are proud we've had the opportunity to work with The PFA to give the fans a fantastic and unique fan resource for Jermaine Defoe.”
DSG became the official digital partner of the Professional Footballers Association (PFA) earlier this year and have since launched a number of Player Profile fan pages on social media site Facebook as well as providing official player pages on their football news site football.co.uk.
