According to NBC Philadelphia, on Septemer 18th a 17-year-old student attending the Windsor Preparatory High School on Midland Avenue was allegedly found carrying a handgun. The student has remained unnamed due to his status as a minor.
The source reports that after the student was noticed for walking suspiciously, he was confronted by the staff where he later admitted to be in possession of an unloaded Astra .22 caliber revolver. The student was later arrested and taken into custody by the Paramus Police Department.
NBC described that the teen, a Newark resident, attends the Windsor Preparatory High School which sees to the needs of students with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and other behavior disorders. Delinquency complaints were signed for two counts of illegal weapon possession. The police are unsure of how the weapon was attained and are now looking into it. He will be heard in the Family Part of the Superior Court in Hackensack.
