A-lign Security Addresses the Question, "Are You Prepared for PCI Data Security Standard Version 3.0?"
Tampa, FL (PRWEB) September 22, 2013 -- Prior to that release, the PCI Security Standards Council will receive feedback on the final draft at the 2013 Community meeting, which is being held in Las Vegas from September 24 – 26.
“As a QSA, being in attendance at the [PCI Security Standards Council’s] Community meeting is essential. It allows us to gain some headway as to what updates are occurring in the payment card industry and to learn how companies may be impacted,” stated Gene Geiger, Director of A-lign Security, who will attend at the 2013 event.
“It is important that business owners are aware of the changes occurring and that they reserve the time necessary to fully understand and implement those changes,” said Geiger. “Our job as QSAs is to aid our clients in adhering to them proactively.”
The changes planned for Version 3.0, as provided by the council, are intended to better educate organizations that process, store, or transmit cardholder data, while strengthening awareness and responsibility with principles that can be applied to each organizations unique environment. Key theme changes occur in the areas of education and awareness, increased flexibility, and security as a shared responsibility.
