The city of La Crosse, Wisconsin specified the HydraTite mechanical seal to economically repair joints within its aging pipeline. Cost was contained due to the fact that the seal could be installed quickly and without the need for excavation.

After much deliberation with regard to options, La Crosse’s City Assistant Superintendent-Sewer specified the HydraTite® mechanical seal, as the best and most cost effective method.

HydraTech Engineered Products is pleased to report the successful application of its HydraTite® Internal Joint Seal product in solving ongoing problems that the city of La Crosse, Wisconsin was having with soil migration through a 72-inch storm pipe.

Despite patching the pipe joints with mortar, soil migration through the 60-year-old storm line joints continued, causing pavement and ground settlement in an area designated for renewal. After much deliberation with regard to options, La Crosse’s City Assistant Superintendent-Sewer specified the HydraTite® mechanical seal, as the best and most cost effective method to repair the mal-alignment of the joints and form an impenetrable barrier against further infiltration. All work was done in seven hours and without the need for excavation.
